There is an alternative to topical cat flea and tick treatment called Capstar. It comes in easy-to-administer tablet form and, according to its manufacturer, goes to work protecting your cat from fleas and ticks within four hours. Capstar needs to be given to your cat once a day.
These flavor tabs are said by its manufacturer to prevent flea eggs and larvae from developing. This breaks the flea life cycle at its base and effectively wipes out the flea population. It is also said to be effective in preventing flea populations.
